ISKCON setup a 200- bed makeshift Hospital for COVID-19 patients
Bada Business, an Initiative by Dr Vivek Bindra, jointly with ISKCON, has set up a makeshift hospital for COVID-19 patients in Dwarka, Delhi.
To support the COVID-19 relief efforts, a college has been converted into a temporary hospital with 200 beds. Efforts are being made to expand the capacity from the existing 200 to 500 beds. The team is working to create ICU and ventilator facility operational in the next few days. The facility has a dedicated 10-member team of doctors and 18 nurses to ensure that the medical services reach all the patients and get requisite timely treatment. Few medical facilitators are contributing resources to strengthen the initiative further.
Patients with oxygen levels up to 88 would be treated at this hospital, including their nutritional needs. The team has also tied up with Janakpuri Super Speciality hospital to handle critical patients.
To ensure the safety of the medical staff, a centralised monitoring system is being used for the patients. At present, only two hospitals in Delhi are using this technology.
Commenting on this initiative, Dr Vivek Bindra, Founder & CEO, Bada Business, said “Saving every life at this point is an utmost priority. We are honoured to share this responsibility to serve our community alongside ISKON, who back our vision. We are confident that with our combined efforts, we will be victorious in alleviating healthcare where it is needed the most.”
Extending the support to the initiative, ISKCON Authorities said- “This partnership with the Bada business has shown that together works better as we delivered a hospital in a few days. Seeing this effort, we hope more corporates will come forth to support such noble initiative”.
ISKCON was already engaged in delivering free, safe and hygienic food to the COVID patients to their doorsteps in Delhi. Requesting anyone who needs treatment to drop in.
