The Art of Finding your Right Canvas

A month-long Sunday art exhibition curated by Minisha Bhardwaj gave budding artists a professional platform to showcase their work at the Taj City Centre Gurugram. The art expo brought together a promising group of budding artists, giving them the chance to step beyond the classroom and experience the art world in a professional setting.

Curated and organised by Minisha Bhardwaj, founder of Misha Arts and an acclaimed artist known for her portrait work, the exhibition extended the learning experience for emerging artists under her mentorship. It brought together 30 mentees aged 12 to 80, making them gallery-ready!

The thoughtfully curated showcase featured artworks across varied styles, mediums and subjects. While the collection came together as a cohesive exhibition, each work retained the distinctive personality and creative voice of its artist. The exhibition thus became not merely a display of finished artworks, but a reflection of the individual journeys, experimentation and evolving confidence of the participants. Some paintings drew a lot of attention, and a few found homes.

For the artists, exhibiting in a professional environment was an important step. It offered them the experience of presenting their work to an audience, seeing their efforts in a new context and, most importantly, developing the confidence to call themselves artists.

Speaking about the initiative, Minisha Bhardwaj said, “I believe mentorship is not about creating artists who paint like their mentor; it is about giving them the confidence to discover their own voice. The moment an artist finds the courage to put their work out into the world, the real journey begins.”

The exhibition reflects the philosophy of Misha Arts, that art education extends beyond technique. Through mentorship and opportunities to exhibit, the initiative encourages young artists to experiment, develop their individual visual language, and find the confidence to share their creative expression with the world.

The Sunday showcases at Taj City Centre Gurugram were therefore as much about finding a voice as displaying a canvas, giving young talent the space to be seen, appreciated and encouraged to take
