With no prior experience in hospitality, except that derived from taking care of guests at home, the Directors – Anu Khurana and Ajay Ahuja – have converted a set of duplex apartments into a hotel accommodations to make it a ‘home away from home’. The transformation is quite startling. Ably assisted by their designer friend, Heena Handa, the space has been converted into quaint and very English rooms. The small touches of hammock outside the rooms, designer signboards, a meandering path, a temple and countless other small, personal touches, including the profusion of flowers everywhere, lend a feel that one is maybe somewhere in Europe!
In addition to Karma Chalets is the addition of award-winning Cafe – Under the Neem. With the concept of farm-to-table introduced by Chef Ravitej and delectable food, their daughter Vanshika has worked hard to make it a household name in the entire Delhi NCR – with unique selections of dining locations like ‘Picnic Pleasure’ & ‘Khet Mein Khaana’.
The Directors have travelled extensively, and a unique feature of the rooms is the profusion of photographs from their travels – both within India and abroad – that adorn the walls. They tend to intrigue you to learn more. Karma Chalets has a set of one, two and three-bedroom units with names such as Sparrow’s Nest, Rabbit’s Burrow, and Lions Den. The latest in their offering is the launch of the 4-bedroom luxury space named Villa du Lac – facing the lake and golf course, with unique features such as check-in and check-out anytime, services of an aide-de-camp, in-house Spa and 24-hour food prepared and served at various cosy nooks and corners within the property. It is the epitome of luxury and excellence. Ideal for family get-togethers, special occasions, corporate board meetings and romantic getaways! The launch of the Villa du Lac coincided with the book launch of ‘Beyond the Bucket List’ – a compilation of travel stories by Ajay. It’s a coffee-table book displayed in each Chalet room.

A 30-minute drive from Gurgaon will get you to this oasis of peace and tranquillity.
