The Stage is All Set at WorldMark –Delhi & Gurugram for Nizami Bandhu
Worldmark Malls in Delhi Aerocity and Gurugram in Sector 65 are bringing Sufi music with the famed Nizami Bandhu to its properties on 24th February in Delhi & 26th February in Gurugram. The focus is a ‘Celebration of Basant, bringing a 700-year-old tradition alive with the Qawwals from Nizamuddin Dargah for the community and creating an awareness of the beauty of the Ganga Jamuna Tehzeeb of Delhi.
Nizami Bandhu is considered the oldest Sufi band in the country, with Chand Nizami as the lead singer, supported by Sohrab Nizami & Shadab Nizami. The Sufi music trio are recognized for a Qawaali rendition written by the poet Amir Khusro in honour of Nizamuddin Auliya. The band scaled the international popular chart for its Bollywood numbers Kun Faya Kun from the film Rockstar, Kahoon Kese Sakhi and Rang from Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
The Sufi Magic
Setting the ball rolling for the two concerts over the weekend of 24th & 26th February, the WorldMark Gurugram & Delhi visitors are in for excellent retail therapy and a dose of entertainment. Kal-Aakaar Collective has been working to revive, rejuvenate, and create a vibrant cultural community in Gurugram through its Performing Arts Academy, Traditional Arts Platform, and various curated and specially designed events for children and adults for seven years. Its Performing Arts Platform Avirbhav brings truly experiential evenings of music, dance, and theatre with a host of renowned and upcoming artists to the stage in Gurugram for families. “The soulful Sufi music by Nizami Bandhu is our offering to celebrate Basant, a celebration of love,” says Prachi Gambhir, founder of Avirbhav, who stands for the cause of reviving traditional music and performing art forms in the country and supporting the artists.
