Suburb Brings Colours of Teej to Gurgaon
The event powered by SUBURB in association with Gurgaon Women’s Lounge and Patio Club was high on festive revelry and saw women letting their hair down to celebrate with aplomb.
Adorned in the brightest of traditional attires and decked up in fine jewellery with great hair-dos, the ladies looked resplendent at the Teej-O- Utsav. The women brigade of Gurgaon got together to have a great time with their girl buddies – upholding the spirit of womanhood.
The high energy event with splendid thematic décor, dance, music, Mehendi, gifts, and lip-smacking Rajasthani food will resonate in the memories of the participants in times to come.
The event began with a thundering Bollywood number getting women to hold hands in traditional fervour to pray for their families and husbands. Pooja Patil Vashistha, founder Gurgaon Women’s Lounge (GWL) and Vineeta Jerath Grover, founder & editor SUBURB warmly welcomed the gathering. Kanika Tiwari with her spontaneity as an MC for the day, made sure that women remained engaged throughout the event.
Star Studded Event
The special guests to grace the occasion included Minoti Bahri, the founder and director of Shikshantar school who said, ‘Women are like flowers which bring beauty to this life’s garden.’’ Rita Gangwani founder of Sashes And Crowns Pageantversity, who has also authored a book, The Beauty Pageants Greenroom with a foreword from Sushmita Sen the former Miss Universe, gave a power-packed talk as a life coach reminding women about their strength. She said, “You are more than you think; it is essential to keep moving and not give up.’’
Other performances included a short solo storytelling session by Faizi Khan, and the showstopper of the event was a sizzling dance sequence choreographed by Richa Goswami. Preeti Advani, a naturopath, spoke about medicinal plants and the usage of planting herbs in the balconies at home.
The feminine energy engulfed each one resonating the dominant side of women who are independent individuals, dexterously manage work and home affairs.
Amidst much music, dance, story-telling, fun and frolic; the inspiring talks left a trail of food for thought. Women from all walks of life participated in the celebrations. There were professionals, homemakers, entrepreneurs who joined the gala and bonded over funny anecdotes of their families friends. The meet-up saw the blossoming of many new friendships. The event gave women a platform to enjoy the warmth of festivities and spend a wonderful time together.
Gifts and More
There was a beeline of gifts to pamper women – cakes, cookies, clothes, plants and more. Kotak Mahindra Bank, Aha! Plants, Pristyn Care, Zorba The Cake Studio, Bhoomibliss, Safe-O-Buddy Kids and Ourea Handmade Luxury Bars were generous to give their products as giveaways.
Right from the word go, Teej-O-Utsav was out, and loud an all women’s event- curated, produced and presented by women for women. The floral thematic colourful décor with photobooth and more was done by Komal Jeremiah Srivastava & Ayesha Gomes. The memories of the event were captured in the lens by Gagan Brar and Pragati Dhiraj Makkar. Shweta Jiingran, Vatsala Arora, Chtra Shharma, the lead team members of GWL looked satisfied and joyous after the successful completion of the event.
The final stroke of a successful event goes to appropriately planned food and drinks! Harneet Chugh, the General Manager of the Club Patio, had made sure that all was in order. It was a magic that was- Teej-O-Utsav!
