In a significant boost to India’s evolving golf ecosystem, DP World has delivered a Clubhouse to Zen Golf Range & Academy, marking a milestone in its commitment to grassroots golf development in the country. Timed ahead of the prestigious Hero India Open, this initiative reflects a larger vision, positioning golf not merely as a sport but as a way of life rooted in discipline, focus, and personal evolution.

Gurgaon is witnessing a surge in interest in golf; the sport is shedding its traditional exclusivity and opening up to a younger, more diverse audience. Driving ranges are becoming social hubs, and Zen Golf is at the forefront of this cultural shift, making the game approachable, aspirational, and deeply engaging.

DP World’s Clubhouse initiative is unique in its philosophy. With India now part of this global vision, this marks the second milestone following the inaugural Clubhouse launch in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2025. This one in India at Zen Golf stands out not just as infrastructure, but as an enabler of community and opportunity.

Daniel van Otterdijk, Group Chief Communications Officer, DP World, said, “We’re incredibly proud to partner with ZEN GOLF Range & Academy and bring the DP World Clubhouse initiative to India. India is an important part of our global sports journey. We are investing in the next generation of golfers and ensuring the sport continues to grow globally.”

The inauguration event brought together some of the most respected names in the golfing world, underlining the importance of the occasion.  Andy Sullivan, a four-time winner of the European Tour, added a memorable dimension by conducting an exclusive Master Class for Zen Golf’s young learners, turning the day into an inspiring, hands-on experience. His interaction with both emerging and seasoned players highlighted the academy’s growing reputation as a serious training ground.

The shining stars

Among the distinguished attendees were Amandeep Johl, CEO, PGTI (Professional Golf Tour of India), DP World, Caroline Wallard and Neal Graham, R&A, St. Andrews, Verghese Thomas, SVP Amit Luthra, Arjuna Awardee and former India No. 1 Pro Golfer; Shubham Jaglan, professional golfer, Asian Tour, were among the prominent names attending the event. The sentiment across the gathering was unanimous. Zen offers an experience that transcends a typical driving range, with one attendee remarking, “It’s a range but gives the feel of a nine-hole course.” The event was seamlessly anchored by V. Krishnaswamy, whose engaging anecdotes brought alive the spirit and evolution of the sport.

Democratising golf

Hemant Kumar Ruia, Country Manager, DP World India Subcontinent, emphasised, “The DP World Clubhouse coming to India reflects our commitment to advancing the sport. By strengthening infrastructure and partnering with Zen Golf, we are helping young talent develop not just skills, but the mindset to pursue their passion.”

At its core, Zen Golf Range & Academy is more than a facility. It is a community-driven initiative committed to democratising golf. On the occasion, Shyam Grover, Managing Director of Zen Golf Range & Academy, and Arjun Malik, Director and Head of Instruction at Zen Golf, were beaming with delight. With thoughtfully designed infrastructure, structured training programmes, and an inclusive approach, Zen is creating pathways for young talent and first-time players alike. It represents a new face of Indian golf, one that is open, dynamic, and future-focused.

India is fast emerging as one of golf’s most dynamic growth markets, driven by increasing junior participation and a growing footprint on the international stage. In urban hubs like Gurgaon, this momentum is clearly visible, with professionals, entrepreneurs, and a new generation of enthusiasts embracing golf not merely as a recreational pursuit but as a mindful discipline that seamlessly integrates sport with lifestyle.

Shyam Grover, Managing Director of Zen Golf Range & Academy, added,“India’s golfecosystem is evolving rapidly, and infrastructure is critical to sustaining that growth. The delivery of the Clubhouse marks an important step for our academy. It enables us to develop more structured programmes, nurture talent, and introduce the game to many more aspiring golfers.”

As golf continues to gain ground across India, initiatives like this are shaping its future, making it more inclusive, more accessible, and more deeply embedded in contemporary urban life. At Zen Golf, the fairway is no longer distant. It’s right here, inviting a new generation to step up, swing, and discover the philosophy of the game and of life!
